On a frosty evening in early December, Sandusky comes alive with the sights and sounds of Christmas for the 14th annual Lighted Farm Implement Parade down main street. With the parade route filled with onlookers, we were treated to a variety of farming equipment decked out in holiday lighting. Many local farmers, and business were had equipment represented in the parade. There were of course a variety of tractors, as well as other farm equipment, horses, floats, music, and plenty of winter merriment. The parade moved at a steady pace down Dawson street, then headed east along M-46, and then south down Elk street, and ending at Sandusky High School. Before the parade, children could meet Santa, there was a live nativity scene, as well as a community sing along. Following the parade there wasopen ice skating at the ice arena. The Lighted Farm Implement Parade was a fun country Christmas celebration for the whole family.
The Lighted Farm Implement Parade was a nice escape from dull winter days, and really got everyone into the true spirit of a country Christmas. I am looking forward to next years parade, and I really enjoyed my first visit to the Lighted Farm Implement Parade.
